The Design
The FZS FI offers the rider and co-passenger excellent comfort by providing a high-quality, comfortable two-level seat. The chrome duct plating with a 3D emblem enhances its premium appeal. The new LED headlight with high-quality reflectors provides excellent visibility. The advanced midship muffler adds sharpness to its appearance. The negative LCD Instrument Cluster makes it easy for the rider to go through the information displayed on the screen.
The FZ X is a crossover design inspired by Neo-Retro design thinking. The highlight of the FZ X is its two-level seat with a unique tuck and roll design to create a slip-resistant feel adding to the comfort and stability. The bi-functional LED headlight with DRL enhances visibility and allows the bike to announce its presence on the roads at night. The sleek LED tail-light enhances its classy and clean look. The stylish LCD meter adds to the design and shows smartphone notifications accurately and attractively.

The Engine – Power and Handling
The FZS FI features a powerful air-cooled 4-stroke 149cc SOHC 2-valve, single-cylinder Blue Core engine to deliver maximum power of 12.4ps and 13.3Nm torque. In addition, this motorcycle features a side-stand engine cut-off switch and Bluetooth-enabled Yamaha Motorcycle Connect X functionality. The bike weighs 135Kg and displays excellent responsiveness leading to quick pick-up and smooth acceleration.
The FZ X has a similar air-cooled 4-stroke 149cc Blue Core engine to deliver an excellent riding performance. In addition, the FZ X also features Bluetooth connectivity similar to the FZS FI.
Safety Features
The FZS FI comes equipped with powerful suspensions and high-quality brakes that provide excellent stability. The rear Mono-cross suspension helps the vehicle maintain the perfect balance as it encounters bumpy roads with ease. The front disc brakes feature single-channel ABS to improve its braking performance by providing better stability and control at all speeds. In addition, the side-stand engine cut-off feature ensures that you do not forget to remove the side stand when riding the bike.
The block pattern tyre on the FZ X boosts handling and ensures good riding comfort. Besides, it adds to the bike’s formidable street presence. In addition, the telescopic suspension with a front fork boot protects against inner tube scratches while adding to its aesthetic looks. This bike also features the side stand engine cut-off to provide additional safety. Furthermore, the Bosch single-channel ABS and the front disc brakes ensure superior braking abilities.
Variants and Pricing
The FZS FI New is available in five exciting colours and priced at Rs 110,700 (ex-showroom, Delhi). The FZ X comes in two variants, with Y-Connect, and without Y-Connect. The FZ X is available in three colour versions and is priced at Rs 121,800 and Rs 116,800, respectively.
CarBike360 Says
The Yamaha Y-Connect app distinguishes these vehicles from the other Yamaha motorcycles that do not come with Bluetooth facilities. The app displays phone notifications on the instrument cluster screen and provides a host of other useful information. Specifications-wise, both these motorcycles are similar. In comparison, the FZ X is a more stylish-looking bike and hence, gets the nod, despite its higher pricing.
