BMW X3 facelift was already launched in the international markets in 2021 and the India-spec model carries most of the updates to the exteriors and interiors.

2022 BMW X3- The Changes:

In terms of the exterior design the new X3 gets a more prominent BMW kidney grille flanked by the new fully-adaptive LED headlamps (as standard) and an aggressive looking front bumper with larger air dam and bigger fog lamp housing as well. The side profile is similar to the outgoing model albeit there are new 19-inch alloy wheels on offer while the rear gets re-profiled bumper with twin exhausts and sculpted, wrap-around LED taillights.

The interiors are revised too with the biggest change being the new 12.35-inch touchscreen infotainment with gesture control and the new 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster with BMW’s latest operating system. Other features include a panoramic sunroof, three-zone climate control, hands-free parking and cruise control.

BMW will offer the 2022 X3 in two trims of SportX Plus and M Sport, where the BMW X3 M Sport comes fully loaded with extra features like adaptive suspension, Harman Kardon audio system, 360-degree camera and the larger 12.35-inch touchscreen whereas the SportX Plus gets a 10.25-inch unit.

Engines and Transmission:

BMW has pulled a surprise by offering the X3 facelift in petrol only guise while the pre-facelift X3 got both petrol and diesel engines. How-ever the company may look to launch a diesel variant down the line but for now the 2022 BMW X3 facelift gets a 2.0L turbo-petrol engine making 252hp power and 350nm of torque. It is mated to an 8-speed automatic gearbox only with all-wheel drive as standard.

Price and Rivals:

With the new BMW X3 price in India, the company has kept the SUV competitive against its rivals like the Mercedes-Benz GLC starting price Rs. 58.5 lakhs, Audi Q5 starting price Rs. 58.9 lakhs and has undercut others like the Volvo XC60 starting price Rs. 63.5 lakhs and the Land Rover Discovery Sport starting price Rs. 65.3 lakhs.

Upcoming BMW Launches in India:

BMW has already launched the X7 and X3 SUVs in India and is now ready for more new launches which will include new all electric car the BMW i4 later this year and a few other products from the German auto-major.
