Mercedes Benz will launch the 2022 Mercedes Maybach S Class on March 3 in India, nearly a year after it launched the Mercedes Benz S Class priced at Rs 1.57 crore.
Mercedes Benz will launch the 2022 Mercedes Maybach S Class on March 3 in India, nearly a year after it launched the Mercedes Benz S Class priced at Rs 1.57 crore. The Maybach S Class is the most luxurious model in the Mercedes line-up and will be the flagship model in India for the German auto maker.
This will be the second car under the Mercedes Maybach name in India after the Mercedes Maybach GLS600 price Rs 2.43 crore. The GLS600 luxury SUV was launched in June 2021 by the company which has a slew of car launches planned for this year in India.
Here are all the details known about the 2022 Mercedes-Maybach S-Class ultra-luxury sedan:
The Mercedes S Class is regarded by most as the best car in the world and its current iteration has strengthened that claim. As we had earlier covered about the upcoming luxury cars in India in 2022, the Maybach S Class is one of the most awaited luxury cars of 2022.

The Maybach S-Class is an even more luxurious version of the opulent S Class and gets the iconic two-tone Mercedes Maybach paint scheme. At the front it gets the Maybach radiator grille and the Maybach logo on the hood, while the air intakes down on the front bumper get heavy chrome embellishments.
The alloy wheels get chrome, the window line gets chrome, there is even a chrome strip down on the doors which runs to the rear, which also gets chrome on the bumper and a chrome strip joining the taillights.
Inside, the Maybach S Class will dazzle you with the sheer amount of luxury it offers with even larger leg room area than the standard S Class, first-time ever- electrically operated rear doors, ultra-comfy reclining rear seats with massage function and other features from the standard S Class.
The Mercedes-Maybach S-Class is 300mm longer than the standard S-Class, which goes on to show how long this car is and it is certainly going to be a herculean task to manoeuvre one on our Indian roads. However, you won’t bother if you can afford one of these as you will easily afford the repair bills too.
Internationally, the 2021 Mercedes Maybach S Class is available with a V8 and V12 engines. Mercedes has yet not revealed the engine details for the 2022 Mercedes Maybach S Class in India but the V8 engine makes 503hp and has a top speed of 250km/h while the V12 engine makes 612hp with a similar top speed.
Both these engines are offered in Petrol and are on par with its chief rivals, like the Bentley sedans and the Rolls Royce sedans. The expected 2022 Mercedes Maybach S Class price is around Rs 2.5 crore to Rs 3 crore.

Mercedes Benz is planning to launch more electric cars under its EQ brand name and will launch the Mercedes Benz EQS electric sedan in India in 2022.
The Mercedes EQS is the flagship electric car of the company is the equivalent of what the S Class is in the ICE segment. Mercedes EQS is already on sale in few global markets and with, the German auto giant opting to bring the car to the Indian shores, shows the confidence it has in the burgeoning Indian electric car market.
