BYD displayed several upcoming cars at the recent Bharat Mobility Expo 2025, in New Delhi. One of them was the Sealion 7, which has recently begun to arrive at local dealerships across the country. The company began orders for the vehicle last month for Rs. 70,000, with delivery scheduled to begin in March of this year.
The Sealion 7 will be available in two models, powered by an 82.5kWh battery pack with single and dual motor versions. The RWD version, which produces 308bhp of power and 380Nm of torque, has a stated range of 482km on a single charge, while the AWD version, which produces 523bhp of power and 690Nm of torque, is claimed to have a range of up to 502km.
The new BYD Sealion 7 will have all-LED lighting, a panoramic sunroof, a 15.6-inch rotating touchscreen infotainment system, an ADAS suite, 11 airbags, dual-zone climate control, a head-up display, a 10.25-inch driver's display, powered front seats with ventilation and heating, and a flat-bottom steering wheel.
Bookings for the Sealion 7 are currently open for a nominal fee of Rs 70,000. As part of the promotional deal, BYD would make an equal contribution of Rs 70,000 to the automobile price. A 7-year/1,50,000km guarantee is also included, as is a free 7kW AC home charger with installation. Deliveries for the first 70 electric SUVs will begin on March 7.
This electric car will compete against several contenders in the Indian market such as Kia EV6, Hyundai Ioniq 5, Volvo EX40, and BMW iX1.
