Honda has officially launched the Made-in-India Elevate SUV in the South African market. The mid-size SUV is priced at R 369,900 (Rs. 15.92 lakh) and comes in two variants – Comfort and Elegance. Despite its international debut, the Elevate retains the same powertrain options available in India.

Offered in Two Trims - Comfort and Elegance

The Elevate SUV is available in two trims, providing South African customers with options to choose between the Comfort and Elegance variants. Both trims offer the same powerful and efficient powertrain found in the Indian version.

Exterior Features

The exterior design of the Elevate remains consistent with its Indian counterpart. Notable features include LED DRLs, a bold blacked-out grille, functional roof rails, and an electrically adjustable single-pane sunroof. The SUV boasts a stylish appearance with elements such as L-shaped LED taillights, 17-inch dual-tone alloy wheels, and black cladding all around.

Minimal Changes in Cabin Design

Inside the South African-spec Elevate, minimal changes are made to the cabin. The SUV features black leatherette seats, a steering wheel, and a gear lever. Despite the slight variations, the interior remains sophisticated and functional, equipped with an eight-inch touchscreen infotainment system, six speakers, automatic climate control, and a digital instrument cluster.

Specifications and Warranty Details

The Honda Elevate for the South African market is powered by the same 1.5-litre NA petrol engine found in India, generating 119bhp and 145Nm of peak torque. The engine comes with a choice of a six-speed manual or a CVT gearbox. Notably, Honda offers a standard warranty of five years or 2,00,000 kilometers in South Africa, exceeding the three-year and unlimited kilometers warranty offered in India.

CarBike360 Says

Despite the absence of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) technology in South Africa, the Elevate remains an attractive and reliable option for SUV enthusiasts in the region.
