Skoda has started production of its new Epiq electric SUV at the Volkswagen Group's Navarra plant in Spain. The Epiq is Skoda's most affordable electric vehicle to date, with a starting price of around €26,000, or approximately Rs. 26 lakh. This launch marks a significant step for the Czech brand as it aims to make electric mobility accessible to a broader customer base.

​The Skoda Epiq measures 4,171mm in length, placing it in the compact SUV segment. Despite its compact size, the Epiq offers a practical 475-liter boot. This expands to 1,345 liters when the rear seats are folded, providing ample cargo space for users.

The Epiq is the first production Skoda to fully adopt the brand's new Modern Solid design language. This design approach focuses on simplicity, durability, and functionality, reflecting the brand's evolving identity.

Performance and Battery Options

Skoda will offer the Epiq with several battery and powertrain configurations. Power outputs range from 85 kW to 155 kW, catering to different driving needs. The top variant delivers a WLTP-certified driving range of up to 441 km on a single charge.

Fast-charging technology allows the Epiq to charge from 10 to 80 percent in as little as 24 minutes, depending on the selected variant. This feature aims to reduce charging downtime and improve convenience for drivers.

Strategic Importance for Skoda

The Epiq will play a key role in expanding Skoda's electric vehicle line-up. By 2026, the company expects to double its EV offerings, with the Epiq positioned as an entry point for first-time electric vehicle buyers. The model is designed to attract new customers to the Skoda brand and support its transition towards electric mobility.
