Skoda Kodiaq RS Unveiled in India: Expected Launch Confirmed by June 2026

Skoda Auto India has turned heads for car enthusiasts by unveiling the much-anticipated Skoda Kodiaq RS in India. The brand will be launching this car by the month of June 2026, making the Skoda Kodiaq the first SUV to get an RS version in India. Under the RS variant, the Kodiaq might get sporty cosmetic bits for the exterior and interior appeal. The car was showcased along with the recently launched 2026 Skoda Kushaq facelift.

Considering the RS nameplate, this car might be available in India as a CBU unit, unlike the Skoda Octavia RS. This new model will give tough competition to the Volkswagen Tayron R-Line and the upcoming MG Majestor. The brand has already confirmed that only limited volumes would be launched for Indian customers.

Aggressive Sportier Design

The Skoda Kodiaq RS might offer a sportier, more aggressive design than the standard facelift version. This new RS iteration might get an all-new front bumper, a blacked-out grille, and wide air dams. Entitled with RS badging, the red brake calipers peeked through 20-inch alloy wheels and blacked-out C-pillars.

While looking at the car from the side, no subtle changes take place. Yet, it offers a sportier look with body-colored lower door trims, and the rear gains a subtle bumper tweak for better flow.

Sporty Cabin Upgrades

Step inside, and you might see all-black-themed upholstery. The dashboard offers a black-finish ergonomic design with subtle red accents. It also features thick bolstered seats with RS badging, hugging occupants through corners. A 13-inch infotainment touchscreen dominates, paired with a digital driver's display and intuitive rotary dials for climate and volume control. While retaining the Kodiaq's versatile space, these upgrades make it feel like a cockpit for weekend track days or long hauls.

Under the hood, the car might carry the same powertrain unit as that of the Skoda Octavia RS. A 2.0L TSI turbo-petrol engine that generates around 265 HP of power and 400 Nm of torque. These new power figures show an increment of around 60 HP in power and 80 Nm of torque over the standard facelift version.

The above engine might be mated to a 7-speed DCT gearbox and get an AWD drivetrain as an option for Indian consumers. This engine is so powerful that it can accelerate the vehicle from 0 to 100 kmph in just 6.3 seconds.

Expected India Launch and Pricing

The brand has just confirmed that the car will go on sale in June 2026. Regarding pricing, the Skoda Kodiaq RS is expected to be priced between Rs 55 lakh and Rs 60 lakh (ex-showroom) in India.
