The plant, acquired from Ford India for Rs 725.7 crore, currently has a production capacity of 3 lakh units per annum, extendable to 4.2 lakh units. The upcoming production will not only include the Nexon EV but also introduce two new additions to Tata's EV lineup – the Curvv EV and Harrier EV.

Punch.ev introduction and competitive pricing

Tata Motors recently introduced the Punch.ev, targeting the competitive EV market with a starting price of Rs 10.99 lakh and booking open at Rs 21,000. The Punch.ev competes with models like the Citroen eC3, Hyundai Exter EV, and Kia Clavis. Available with two battery packs, the standard model offers a 25-kWh battery with a 315 km range, while the Long Range (LR) variant boasts a larger 35 kWh battery pack providing a 421 km range.
Tata Curvv
The Tata Curvv, spied during testing, is set to enter the compact SUV space with both internal combustion engine (ICE) and electric powertrain variants. Positioned to compete with ICE models like the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, and Maruti Grand Vitara, the electric version of Curvv will take on upcoming rivals such as the Creta EV, Maruti eVX, and Mahindra BE.05. Anticipated pricing details are expected to be announced by June 2024.
Tata Harrier EV and Safari EV

Leaked design patents for the Tata Harrier EV and Safari EV showcase a futuristic exterior and a host of interior features. The flagship EVs will feature a twin-spoke steering wheel, panoramic sunroof, touch-based HVAC system, a 360-degree camera, and advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS). Interior comforts extend to automatic climate controls, wireless charging, ventilated front seats, and ambient lighting. Positioned on the Gen II EV architecture, an improvement over the Nexon EV's Gen I platform, these SUVs are expected to draw power from a 60 kWh to 80 kWh battery pack, providing a range of around 500 km on a full charge. The launch is anticipated with a price range of Rs 25-35 lakh.
