Tata Motors has recently announced that they have delivered their strongest-ever monthly sales in September 2025, along with Tata Motors Electric Mobility. Driven by festive demands and followed by the implementation of the new GST 2.0 tax reforms, which have played a major role in boosting high sales figures. Furthermore, they showcase sustained demand momentum across their ICE, CNG, and electric vehicle portfolios.
The brand achieved multiple new records, further solidifying its leadership in India’s passenger vehicle and EV segments. According to the company, monthly sales crossed the 60,000 mark for the very first time, while quarterly sales showed a healthy double-digit growth. This spontaneous sales growth was fueled by the brand's popularity, multiple powertrain options available, and renewed customer preference for affordable EVs and CNG vehicles.

This surge underlined Tata’s strong market dominance in the electric mobility space. The company’s flagship SUV, the Tata Nexon, emerged as the star performer, surpassing 22,500 units in September 2025. This milestone not only marked the Nexon’s highest-ever monthly sales but also made it the best-selling Tata passenger vehicle to date. For the second quarter of FY26, Tata Motors registered total sales of 144,397 units, translating to a strong 10% year-on-year growth. However, the sales of electric vehicles stood out with 25,000 units sold, achieving 59% Y-o-Y and an impressive 17% penetration of the company’s overall passenger vehicle sales. The key contributors were Harrier EV, Nexon EV, Tiago EV, and Punch EV, all of which are gaining strong traction across segments.
A significant development was the rapid rise in green fuel adoption, with combined CNG and EV sales accounting for 44% of Tata Motors’ total volumes in Q2. Now, after the implementation of the GST 2.0 tax regime, revised prices will make Tata cars more affordable than before, especially during the festive seasons.
Global Expansion: South Africa Entry
One of the biggest achievements of the brand was entering the South African market. This results in a 5-times growth in the international business volumes. This expansion not only broadens Tata’s global footprint but also strengthens its vision of becoming a competitive global passenger vehicle manufacturer.
Conclusion
Tata Motors’ record-breaking September and Q2 FY26 results mark a defining phase in its growth trajectory. With unparalleled demand for the Nexon, expanding EV and CNG portfolios. Tata has positioned itself at the forefront of India’s mobility transition.
