Tata Motors is set to give a refreshing facelift to its popular Tata Punch petrol variant in mid-2025, as confirmed by Shailesh Chandra, MD of Tata Motors' Passenger Vehicles Unit. The disclosure came during the launch event of the Punch EV, marking a significant update for the model since its introduction in October 2021.

Punch Facelift to Share Design Cues with Newer Tatas:

The upcoming facelift for the Tata Punch promises more than just cosmetic changes. Following the recent trend seen in the models like the Nexon and Harrier, the small SUV is expected to undergo a visual overhaul. Modifications can be anticipated to the front bumper, grille, headlamps, and bonnet, aligning the Punch with Tata's latest design language.

Varying Features Between Punch Facelift and Punch EV

One notable distinction between the Punch facelift and its electric counterpart will be the feature list. Just as observed in the Nexon EV and Nexon ICETata Motors aims to set apart the petrol and EV versions. From touchscreen infotainment system sizes to braking systems and additional features, the differences will serve distinct preferences.

What to Expect in the Tata Punch Facelift:

Similar to the recently updated Nexon and Harrier models, the Punch facelift is likely to boast a refreshed front fascia, redesigned grille, and updated rear fascia with new LED tail lights. Inside, expect a modernized dashboard featuring a floating touchscreen, touch-based air-conditioning controls, and a 2-spoke steering wheel with an illuminated Tata logo.

No Powertrain Changes Expected:

While the facelift brings a visual refresh, there are no expected alterations to the powertrain. The Punch will continue to be powered by a 1.2-litre petrol engine generating 86hp and 113Nm, coupled with either a 5-speed manual or an AMT gearbox. The CNG option will also be retained, providing buyers with a fuel-efficient alternative.
