Citroen India is all set to expand its compact SUV portfolio in India. With the launch of the much-anticipated Aircross X, the brand is trying to bring up the upgrades with the suffix X, as it previously did with Basalt X and C3X. The car is designed to offer a compelling blend of refined aesthetics, advanced features, and robust performance.
The Aircross X promises to enhance Citroen's footprint in India's competitive midsize SUV segment. With bookings already open at a token amount of Rs 11,000, the Aircross X is positioned as a premium iteration that builds on the success of the Aircross range. Let’s check out the possible insights of the upcoming Citroen Aircross X.
Subtle Exterior Design Change
The upcoming Citroen Aircross X will receive no major exterior changes, considering its design. However, an exclusive badge with the suffix X will be added to the tailgate. Even the car will receive a new striking exterior green paint scheme, setting it apart from the previous Aircross across the portfolio. With a rugged SUV stance, the Citroen Aircross combines the modernity of the French icon with adventure.
Premium Interiors

Inside, the cabin features a darker theme complemented by updated upholstery and subtle design tweaks. The cabin is cozy, luxurious, and full of enhanced features, drawing inspiration from Citroen's comfort DNA. The dashboard may be updated for the vehicle, resembling that of Basalt X. Other prominent updates include a new dual-tone finish, revised air-con vents, and advanced climate control.
The most sophisticated upgrade will be the introduction of the CARA, India’s first AI car assistant. With such an enhanced feature, the car might carry forward with the 17.78 cm color TFT digital cluster, which offers controls of TPMS, Eco-Indicator, and many more. Along with this, the driver might come across a 26 cm HD touchscreen infotainment system with built-in connectivity.

Enhanced Comfort and Technology Features

Notable inclusions in the Aircross X include cruise control, push-button start/stop, wireless phone charger, ambient lighting, and an auto-dimming interior rearview mirror. The car might also be equipped with automatic AC and climate control. For safety, the car might offer 6 airbags as standard. Along with this, ABS with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD) and Electronic Stability Program (ESP) are available as standard across all trims. The option of a 360-degree camera further aids driver confidence and parking convenience.
Citroen Aircross X: Powertrain Specs
Under the hood, the car carries the same powertrain unit as its predecessors. The upcoming Aircross X is powered by a 1.2L naturally aspirated petrol engine that produces 110 HP and 190 Nm of torque. Another engine will be a 1.2L turbocharged engine producing around 205 Nm of peak torque. The base variant engine will be paired with a 5-speed transmission system, whereas the turbocharged engine comes with a 6-speed manual or 6-speed automatic as an option.
Conclusion
The Aircross X launch complements Citroen’s broader strategy. With an expanded dealership network and competitive pricing, the Aircross X is poised to attract urban families and tech-savvy SUV enthusiasts alike, competing head-to-head with models like the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, and Honda Elevate.
