Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) announced that cumulative sales of the Innova HyCross have surpassed 200,000 units in India. The milestone comes about three and a half years after the model's launch in November 2022. The achievement highlights the growing acceptance of self-charging hybrid technology in the premium MPV segment.
Key Highlights
- Toyota Innova HyCross surpasses 200000 unit sales in India since November 2022 launch
- Hybrid system delivers 137 kW in main variant and operates 60 percent in electric-only mode
- Model receives five-star BNCAP safety rating and offers eight-year hybrid battery warranty

Innova HyCross Sales and Technology
The Innova HyCross replaced the Innova Crysta and is built on Toyota's New Global Architecture (TNGA) platform. This model marked a shift from a diesel-dominant lineup to a hybrid-electric configuration. The HyCross features a fifth-generation self-charging strong hybrid electric system paired with a 2.0-litre four-cylinder petrol engine.
In its main hybrid variant, the system delivers a combined output of 137 kW (186 PS). Non-hybrid variants of the same engine produce 129 kW (174 PS). According to testing by the International Centre for Automotive Technology (ICAT), the vehicle operates in electric-only mode about 60 percent of the time under standard driving conditions.
The ex-showroom price for the Innova HyCross starts at ₹19.53 lakh. Select hybrid variants come with an eight-year warranty on the self-charging hybrid battery. The model has also achieved a five-star safety rating under the Bharat New Car Assessment Programme (BNCAP).
Features and After-Sales Support

The Innova HyCross offers features such as powered Ottoman second-row seats, ventilated front seats, dual-zone air conditioning, a power tailgate, and over 65 connected features. The vehicle includes Toyota Safety Sense, which provides active safety functions like pre-collision warning and lane departure alerts.
TKM supports owners with its T CARE after-sales programme, which covers services throughout the ownership cycle. Sub-brands under T CARE include T ASSIST, T SECURE, T INSPECT, and T SMILE.
Company Operations and Market Position
Toyota Kirloskar Motor is a joint venture between Toyota Motor Corporation of Japan, holding an 89 percent stake, and Kirloskar Systems Limited of India, holding 11 percent. The company operates two manufacturing plants in Bidadi, near Bangalore, with a total production capacity of up to 342,000 units per year. The Innova HyCross is assembled at the first plant, alongside the Innova Crysta, Fortuner, and Legender.
Sabari Manohar, Executive Vice President for Sales, Service and Used Car Business at TKM, stated that the sales milestone reflects increasing customer trust in hybrid technology. The company will continue to focus on market-relevant products and improving the ownership experience. TKM did not specify a timeline for the next sales milestone.
