Toyota Rumion launches new base variant in India
Toyota has expanded its Rumion lineup with a new base variant, offering budget-conscious customers a more accessible entry point into the MPV segment.

Toyota Kirloskar Motor has launched a new E variant in the Rumion lineup. This new variant now serves as the most affordable option in the Rumion range, replacing the previous S variant. The Rumion E is priced at Rs. 9.55 lakh and comes equipped with a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine. This engine produces 102 HP and 139 Nm of torque and is paired with a five-speed manual transmission.

Toyota Rumion E Variant Details
The Toyota Rumion E variant offers several standard features. These include halogen projector headlamps, LED tail lights, and 15-inch steel wheels with wheel covers. The interior features a dual-tone theme, front and rear power windows, and a tilt-adjustable steering wheel. Safety features include six airbags, height-adjustable front seat belts, ABS with EBD, electronic stability program (ESP), and hill hold control (HHC).
In addition to the manual transmission, the Rumion lineup also offers a six-speed torque converter automatic and CNG versions. These options provide buyers with flexibility based on their preferences and requirements.
Comparison With S Variant
The S variant, which previously served as the entry-level option, is now priced at Rs. 10.51 lakh for the petrol manual version. The price difference between the E and S variants is Rs. 95,500. The E variant omits several features found in the S variant. Notable exclusions include turn indicators on the outside rearview mirrors (ORVMs), body-colored door handles and ORVMs, and a sliding front armrest with storage.
Other missing features in the E variant are second-row centre console AC vents, remote keyless entry, and illuminated type-C charging ports for the second row. The E variant also lacks a day and night adjustable inside rearview mirror (IRVM), an audio screen with touch buttons, four speakers and two tweeters, steering-mounted controls, USB and Aux connectivity, and a security alarm.
