Ultraviolette has partnered with Bolt. Earth to expand the Type-6 DC charging network for electric vehicles across India. Type-6 is the national standard for light electric vehicle DC charging, covering e-bikes and electric motorcycles. This collaboration aims to create an interoperable charging ecosystem using a standardized interface. The goal is to improve charging accessibility and support broader adoption of electric vehicles in the country.
Key Highlights
- Ultraviolette and Bolt Earth to expand Type-6 DC charging network across India.
- Network to reach 50 upgraded stations in two months and 2000 stations in 24 months
- Current 3kW chargers enable a 0-80 percent charge in 2.5 hours for F77 and X-47.
- Plans include 6kW and 12kW chargers to reduce charging times
- Integrated apps offer real-time charger status and remote session monitoring
Charging Network Expansion

Currently, Type-6 charging stations are operational in several Indian states. These include Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Delhi, and Gujarat. Over the next two months, the network will grow to include 50 upgraded Bolt Earth stations. All new Bolt Earth charging stations will be compatible with the full Ultraviolette lineup, including future models. The companies have also announced plans to expand the network by 2,000 charging stations within the next 24 months.
Charging Technology and User Experience
The Bolt Earth charging stations use a 3kW DC fast charger. This allows users to charge Ultraviolette models such as the F77 and X-47 from 0 to 80 percent in 2.5 hours. Charging from 0 to 100 percent takes 3.5 hours. The companies plan to introduce higher-capacity 6 kW and 12 kW chargers in the future. These upgrades will further reduce charging times for users.
The integrated smart ecosystem is accessible through the Ultraviolette and Bolt Earth apps, which provide real-time charger availability. Riders can monitor charging sessions remotely and use a scan-to-pay feature for convenience. This system aims to make public charging more accessible and reduce range anxiety for Ultraviolette customers.
Future Outlook
The partnership between Ultraviolette and Bolt Earth is set to improve public charging infrastructure for light electric vehicles in India. By expanding the Type-6 DC charging network, the companies seek to support the growing demand for electric mobility and make charging easier for users nationwide.
