Upcoming 2022 Skoda Slavia launch In India Announced

Launch of Skoda Slavia in India has been announced by Skoda Auto India. Reports mention the launch of this all-new compact sedan will be in March 2022, the upcoming Slavia model will be based on the company's localised MQB A0-IN global platform similar to Skoda Kushaq compact SUV.

The manufacturing of Slavia will take place at Skoda Auto Volkswagen India's production factory in Maharashtra and is expected to make 95% of the car in India which will allow Skoda to price it according to Indian market. Skoda also stated that the New Skoda Slavia has been designed specifically for the Indian market.

Director of Sales, Service, and Marketing of Skoda Auto India, Zac Hollis has announced in his recent tweet that Skoda Slavia will be arriving in showroom on 10th of February .Price, launch and customer deliveries will take place from first week of March 2022.

The INDIA 2.0 Strategy of Skoda has already generated a good feedback from the market with its first product Skoda Kushaq which falls under the mid-size SUV segment and now they are focusing on Skoda Slavia’s successful launch. Slavia and Kushaq will share some of their components which will decrease the manufacturing cost of both the cars.

Skoda Slavia 2022 Features and Design:

Skoda is coming up with features like push start/stop button technology, keyless entry, digital instrument cluster, smart climate control, steering mounted controls, ventilated seats on the front, AC vents on back seats, a fully touch screen which will also provide entertainment while serving its purpose. Despite being a compact sedan car is expected to come with a good space , which includes boot space of 521 litres and ground clearance of 179 mm. Measurements are 4,541 mm in length, 1,752 mm wide and 1,487 mm tall with wheelbase of 2,651 mm similar to Skoda Kushaq .

Engine Specifications:

Skoda is offering two turbocharged petrol engines which will certainly add more to its power. In addition there is 1.5 TSI that will generate 150 PS of peak power and upto 250 Nm of torque. Equipped with a 7-speed DSG dual-clutch automatic gearbox and a 6-speed manual gearbox. This engine will provide a good fuel economy for the city riding which is an important aspect to remember since fuel prices are sky rocketing.

Rivals:

Skoda Slavia Sedan will be challenging the popular sedans like Honda City, Maruti Suzuki Ciaz, Hyundai Verna and other cars in this segment. It will be a competitive market space for Skoda Slavia but manufacturing it in India will help Skoda to launch it in affordable price range for the Indian market. The on-road price of Skoda Slavia is expected to be between 10.50 lakhs – 17.50 lakhs.
