Upcoming Electric Scooters to Look Out for in 2024

In India, the growing awareness for sustainable transportation have led to an increase in the popularity and affordability of electric scooters. In the future years, a number of two-wheeler manufacturers plan to introduce their Upcoming Electric Scooters, which will have a range of features, performance, and styling choices. 

Lectrix EV LXS G 3.0

With its powerful 2200 watt motor, the Lectrix EV LXS G 3.0 electric scooter can cover a respectable 80 to 105 kilometers on a single charge. The battery requires approximately 4 hours to fully charge due to its 3 kWh capacity. This scooter weighs 108 kg and has a top speed of 60 km/h. It is positioned 145 mm above the ground and has tubeless tires. Fast charging is even supported. A digital speedometer, digital clock, and push-button start are just a few of the unique features that it has. Its smooth performance is enhanced by the tubeless tires and sheet metal wheels.

Honda Activa Electric

In 2024, Honda intends to launch an electric variant of their well-known Activa scooter.This scooter can go around 100 km on a single charge and is expected to have a top speed of 60 km/h. Its style will be a hybrid of the current Activa models and electric styling. Features like a digital display and regenerative braking are things to anticipate. The estimated cost, exclusive of taxes and other fees, is Rs 1.10 lakh. 

LML Star

An electric scooter with a 4 kWh detachable battery is called the LML Star. It has a 120 km range on a single charge. Up to 6.8 PS of power and 38 Nm of torque can be generated by the motor. It can go up to 85 km/h. It has an integrated messaging screen, excellent suspension, and an aluminum rear section that contribute to its smooth ride. Its two wheels are equipped with disc brakes for safety. It will face competition from scooters such as TVS iQube Electric and Bajaj Chetak. 
 

Hero Electric AE-8

Hero Electric has shown the AE-8, a new electric scooter that will be released soon. Although all the details are yet unknown, this scooter has a number of remarkable features, such as LED headlights for excellent night vision and a digital display for convenient ride monitoring. Additionally, the front of it features a distinctive blue backlit honeycomb design.
 

Suzuki Burgman Electric

Even though the Suzuki Burgman Electric is almost ready for production, the introduction of this electric two-wheeler in India has been postponed by a few years. With its telescopic fork, disc brake, 12-inch alloy wheels up front, and twin shock absorbers with a smaller wheel at the back, this scooter's design is similar to that of the Suzuki Burgman Street. It is anticipated that the electric motor will provide roughly 4kW of power, which is equivalent to a 110cc petrol scooter, and a range of about 90km, making it ideal for daily commuting.

Yamaha Neo’s

Yamaha Neo's features a large storage area behind the seat, a smartphone-compatible touchscreen, and a smart key.  A single charge of the Yamaha Neo's battery can cover 38.5 km. It can travel up to 68 km with an additional battery. The battery may be charged for eight hours. Adding an additional battery, however, reduces its storage capacity. The scooter features an Eco mode to save energy and can travel as quickly as a small petrol scooter.

Kinetic E-Luna

With a range of 70 km on a single charge and a top speed of 25 km/h, the E-Luna is anticipated to be an affordable choice for short-distance daily travellers. When compared to the TVS XL100, Kinetic Green is offering the Luna with more battery capacity. With anticipated top speeds of 50 km/h, the scooter qualifies for government subsidies through FAME 2. It most likely has 16-inch wheels with brakes on both wheels and spokes. 

Liger X 

The first self-balancing electric scooter, the Liger X, was unveiled by Mumbai-based electric mobility startup Liger Mobility. There are two models of this scooter: Liger X and Liger X Plus. For smartphones, both versions have 4G and GPS connectivity that offers real-time location, ride history, battery life, and temperature information. The scooter can stay balanced at slower speeds thanks to its self-balancing technology. With an LED headlight, the Liger X and X Plus both have a neo-retro aesthetic. Although they both have a top speed of 65 km/h, the X model has a 60 km range on a single charge, while the X Plus variant has a 100 km range. 

Ather Family Scooter

Following the Ather 450S and Ather 450X models, Ather Energy is testing a new scooter. It is anticipated to use the same 2.9kWh battery as the Ather 450S, with a maximum charging range of 115 km. In comparison to earlier Ather scooters, this next electric scooter has a larger seat, a front light, foldable footrests for passengers, a distinctive front brake, and a roomy flat surface for the rider's feet. 

Hero eMaestro

Similar to the Hero Maestro Edge 125 Hero eMaestro is powered by an electric motor and a lithium-ion battery rather than a gasoline engine. LED lighting, a digital display, and a handlebar-mounted button for drive, reverse, and neutral are some of the characteristics of this scooter. Its motor is anticipated to operate similarly to a 110cc petrol scooter. For a smooth ride, it features a rear shock absorber, a front telescopic fork, and alloy wheels with tubeless tires. For safe stopping, it also incorporates drum brakes with a CBS. A range of roughly 80 km on a single charge, digital instruments, LED lights, and phone connectivity possibilities are anticipated features. It can reach a maximum speed of 85km/h.

Gogoro 2 Series

The strong liquid-cooled electric motor of the Gogoro 2 series scooter can provide up to 7 kW of peak power and an amazing 196 Nm of torque at the rear wheel. Its effectively swappable batteries allow it to deliver an amazing range of up to 170 miles on a single charge at a steady 30 km/h. The adjustable rear shock absorbers and front telescopic fork improve riding enjoyment.  The scooter has a combined braking system in addition to disc brakes for further safety. It has a digital speedometer and 12-inch alloy wheels.
