Volkswagen Tayron Spotted Testing in India
Volkswagen had given us a glimpse of the 7-seater Tayron SUV at the Paris Motor Show in 2024. The much-awaited Tayron now has been spied while being tested in India. The Tayron is said to replace the Taigun AllSpace, which was discontinued in India at the end of 2021. The Tayron is a sibling to the new generation Skoda Kodiaq, which was recently launched in India.
Tayron's Exterior Design
The test mule in question resembles closely the version which was unveiled in Paris. The external design elements are a sleek front grille linking a pair of sharp, angular projector headlamps, including the lower air intake stretching across the front bumper. Coming to the rear, the Tayron features connected taillamps with LED elements creating an X-shaped pattern.
Tayron's Interior Design
The interior design has not been revealed as of yet, but the Tayron will possibly receive a 12.6-inch touchscreen with the gear selector mounted on the steering column. The Tayron’s additional features include nine airbags, a digital instrument cluster, tri-zone automatic climate control, 10-colour ambient lighting, and powered front seats with ventilation and massage functions. nine airbags, a digital instrument cluster, tri-zone automatic climate control, 10-colour ambient lighting, and powered front seats with ventilation and massage functions.
Powertrain & Performance
Talking about the engine and powertrain, the Indian variant of the Tayron will possibly resemble the Kodiaq’s specifications. The specs feature a 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine which generates 201 bhp and 320 Nm of torque, paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox and an all-wheel-drive system.
The Tayron will rival the Skoda Kodiaq and Toyota Fortuner and will mark Volkswagen’s re-entry into the three-row, seven-seat SUV segment.
