Mahindra & Tata rode on the success of Thar & Nexon respectively in the year 2022 meanwhile, the year went equally good for Hyundai and Kia. Maruti still tops the list of most bought car in 2022, but today we are here to pick the Carbike360 Car of the Year 2022.
The Editorial Team of Carbike360 has selected the Carbike360 Car of the Year 2022. It was a difficult decision to make as the year 2022 has seen numerous new car launches, and facelifted versions of already on-sale cars. But while selecting the COTY 2022, the editorial team kept in mind, the effect this would make on the readers of Carbike360 NewsDesk. And so, while selecting the top 4 cars in India for the year, we analyzed all the cars launched in 2022 through some parameters.
# 4. Maruti Grand Vitara/Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder
Maruti Grand Vitara and Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder have so much in common as both of these cars were manufactured through the collaboration between Maruti & Toyota. These cars, Grand Vitara and Hyryder have same underpinnings, features, and powertrains. The only difference is these cars being served with distinctive clothes to represent their respective manufacturers/brands.
Both of these cars created a huge hype as it was the first time that Maruti & Toyota were collaborating with each other. Not only that, but their designs, features and mileage have been the talk of the town since their launch.
Strong hybrid and mild hybrid powertrains are available for both SUVs, with the former providing remarkable fuel efficiency of up to 28 km/l (ARAI). In terms of engines, gearboxes, and drivetrains, the SUVs provide a wide variety of alternatives. They are also equipped with characteristics that make them a tempting choice to think about.

# 2. Citroen C3
The C5 Aircross, a CKD import from the French automaker Citroen, was first offered in India last year. But, the C3 was introduced in India earlier this year, and the significant aspect of French carmaker launching C3 in India was that it was built locally. This marked the automaker's first attempt to appeal to the mainstream market. The hatchback has received praise for its distinctive design, which resembles a combination between a hatch and an SUV.
The car's reasonably priced starting price of Rs 5.88 lakh (ex-showroom) and good value for money support its claim to be a small family vehicle.

The Carbike360 Car of the Year 2022 goes to the Mahindra Scorpio N. The Scorpio nameplate, a hugely popular SUV among the general public, had a thorough makeover and acquired a new suffix, giving it a completely new identity—Scorpio-N. Despite its new look, the Scorpio-N maintains the tough qualities of the original Scorpio thanks to a traditional ladder-on-frame chassis and the choice of a 4x4 drivetrain with a low-range transfer case.
Additionally, the Scorpio is now being propelled by a petrol engine in addition to a conventional diesel engine for the first time. The new Scorpio-N is far more modern and technologically advanced than its predecessor while yet maintaining its utilitarian appeal. It also comes with a number of improved features.
