  • Based on the same platform as the Harley-Davidson X440, the Hero Mavrick 440 is the Indian brand's offering
  • Hero Mavrick will share many of the same fundamental parts of Harley-Davidson X440

Hero MotoCorp has formally revealed the name "Maverick" for their upcoming flagship motorcycle. Mavrick is the name that the company recently trademarked, which led to rumours about the identity of the upcoming streetfighter.

Ultimately, Hero MotoCorp's official social media channels have disclosed the bike's name and official launch date. On January 23, Hero MotoCorp will introduce the Mavrick 440, its most potent motorcycle, to the Indian market.

Based on the same platform as the Harley-Davidson X440, the Hero Mavrick 440 is the Indian brand's offering. With the help of this new bike, the company will be able to break into the lucrative and fiercely competitive premium 400cc market, which is currently dominated by KTM, Royal Enfield, and Bajaj.

Harley partnered with Hero MotoCorp to launch their most affordable motorcycle last year. The forthcoming Hero Mavrick will share many of the same fundamental parts, such as the trellis frame and the 440 cc, oil-cooled, single-cylinder engine. Nonetheless, it will undergo several modifications to differentiate itself from its American counterpart.

A 440cc, single-cylinder, oil-cooled engine with 27 horsepower and 38 Nm will power the Mavrick. There is a five-speed gearbox connected to the engine. In addition, the Mavrick's feature list may include dual-channel ABS, a USB port, a side stand sensor, a digital console with likely smartphone connectivity, and full LED illumination. The Mavrick will receive dual rear springs, a front and rear disc mounted on likely 17-inch wheels, in addition to standard forks.

The Hero Mavrick 440 is anticipated to have an initial retail price of approximately Rs 1.7 lakh (ex-showroom). Its competitors at this price point are the, Royal Enfield Bullet 350, and Honda CB300F.
