Hero Plans on Starting Dirt Bike Challenge: Details Inside

The Hero Dirt Biking Challenge is designed to give aspiring riders a place to pursue their love of off-road racing.

Hero MotoCorp, the largest producer of motorbikes and scooters in the world, has unveiled the Hero Dirt Biking Challenge (HDBC), a pioneering pan-India talent-hunting initiative by an OEM (original equipment manufacturer). To select India's best amateur off-road riders, HDBC will visit as many as 45 cities, making it truly pan-Indian. The winner and the two runners-up will each receive a Hero Xpulse 200 4V motorcycle as well as sponsorship deals worth Rs. 20 lakh from Hero MotoCorp. In November 2022, HDBC will also be streamed on Voot and shown on MTV.

Chief Growth Officer (CGO) of Hero MotoCorp Ranjivjit Singh stated, "Through HDBC, we are bringing this knowledge to teach the youth in India. Hero MotoSports Team Rally has been India's flag-bearer in international rally racing. The culture of off-road riding in the nation will benefit even more from this.

The Hero MotoSports Squad Rally, one of the top international teams and the only Indian team to ever win a stage at the Dakar Rally, will coach participants in the HDBC. The top competitors will work alongside Hero MotoSports Team Rally riders Ross Branch, Joaquim Rodrigues, Sebastian Buhler, and Franco Caimi.

The preliminary rounds will take place over several weekends in 45 cities, and those who make the short list will advance to the regional rounds, which will take place in 18 cities. The top 100 riders will attend a five-day regional bootcamp where none other than Indian champion racer CS Santosh will instruct them. The bootcamp will end with a race, and the top 20 competitors will advance to the finals, which will take place at Hero MotoCorp's R&D facility in Jaipur, the Center of Innovation and Technology (CIT). Prior to the final race, the top riders will receive training and guidance from the Hero MotoSports Team Rally during a five-day period.
