Mahindra XUV400 electric SUV Teaser: Launch on September 8

Mahindra & Mahindra, just before the launch of the future XUV400 that is slated on September 8, 2022, has released the first teaser for the all-electric SUV. The Mahindra XUV300's electric variant, which will soon be available, debuted at the 2020 Auto Show as the eXUV300. The XUV400 is Mahindra's first all-electric debut in the passenger vehicle market in a very long time, and it finally kickstarts the company's EV ambitions.

  • XUV300 serves as the foundation for the Mahindra XUV400 electric SUV.
  • The XUV400 receives a new X-motif grille and the Twin Peaks emblem.
  • It is anticipated that the Mahindra XUV400 will cost on par with the Tata Nexon EV Max.

The forthcoming Mahindra XUV400 teaser begins with the vehicle charging before revealing the projector headlamps and well-known LED DRLs. The new Twin Peaks logo has taken center stage, and the X-motif grille has made it to the production edition. For the time being, the rear design is hidden, but rumors claim significant adjustments will be made there. Given that EVs do not qualify for the tax rate for vehicles shorter than four meters, the model is anticipated to be longer than four meters. This should offer the vehicle a competitive advantage while also providing a significant advantage over the XUV300.

The Mahindra XUV400's electric motor is anticipated to provide roughly 150 horsepower in terms of power, and there may be two different battery options available. Over 450 kilometers of the range is anticipated on a single charge. The XUV400 is anticipated to compete on price and performance with the Nexon EV Max while being positioned between the Tata Nexon EV and the MG ZS EV on the positioning.

Mahindra has not yet provided information on the features, however many of the XUV300's features should be there as well. A larger touchscreen infotainment system and a digital instrument console could be added as options. It will be interesting to see if ADAS is offered with the XUV400.
