New spy images of the Maruti Suzuki Brezza facelift have emerged, revealing more details about the upcoming compact SUV. The latest test vehicle appears to be undergoing emission testing, indicating that Maruti Suzuki may be evaluating a new powertrain for the Brezza. This development comes alongside expected cosmetic and feature updates.
Key Highlights
- Maruti Suzuki Brezza facelift spied with possible 1.0-litre turbo engine
- Facelift may offer new 6-speed manual gearbox and larger 10.1-inch touchscreen
- Camouflage suggests mild exterior updates and possible ADAS features
- CNG variants may adopt underbody tank layout for more boot space
- Launch expected in festive season or in 2027 with slight price increase
Engine and Powertrain Updates

The updated Brezza may receive Maruti Suzuki’s 1.0-litre Boosterjet turbo-petrol engine, currently available on the Maruti Suzuki Fronx. This engine could be paired with a new 6-speed manual gearbox, as seen in earlier spy shots. At present, the Brezza is the only compact SUV in its segment without a turbo-petrol engine option.
Introducing a smaller turbo-petrol engine would allow certain Brezza variants to qualify for the lower 18 percent GST bracket. This bracket applies to sub-4-metre petrol cars with engines below 1.2 litres. The current Brezza, powered by a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine, falls under the higher 40 percent GST rate.
Maruti Suzuki is also expected to retain the existing 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine and CNG-powered variants for the facelift. Previous reports suggested that CNG versions could adopt an underbody tank layout, which would increase usable boot space.
Design and Feature Changes
The latest spy shots show camouflage mainly on the front and rear bumpers, suggesting mild styling revisions rather than a full redesign. The front of the SUV appears to feature a revised grille and reshaped fog-lamp housings. The headlamp units seem similar to the current model, while the front bumper includes a thicker silver faux skid-plate element.
There appears to be a radar housing in the middle of the grille, indicating that the Brezza facelift could offer advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS). At the rear, the bumper detailing looks slightly updated, but most changes remain hidden under camouflage. The test vehicle also features a new alloy wheel design, likely 16-inch units.
Inside, the Brezza facelift is expected to receive a revised dashboard layout. A larger 10.1-inch infotainment touchscreen may replace the current 9-inch unit, similar to the system in the Maruti Suzuki Victoris. The cabin could also get new trims, features, and a fresh colour scheme.
Launch Timeline and Competition
The Brezza facelift is expected to launch during the festive season later this year or possibly in 2027. Prices are likely to increase slightly over the current model, which is priced between Rs 8.26 lakh and Rs 12.86 lakh (ex-showroom).
The updated Brezza will continue to compete with models like the Tata Nexon, Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet, Mahindra XUV 3XO, Skoda Kylaq, and Kia Syros.
