Built for Space and Practicality

Based on the CMF-A platform the Nissan Gravite is a B-segment, seven-seater MPV, this architecture is also used by Renault Triber. The CMF-A platform is known for maximising cabin space within sub-4-metre dimensions, making it well suited for urban families. While the Gravite borrows its mechanical foundation from the Triber, Nissan has highlighted that the Gravite will feature a distinctive design and character unique to its brand identity.

Design teasers reveal a noticeably more assertive look compared to its sibling. The Upcoming MPV Gravite is likely to feature a wider grille, inverted L-shaped LED DRLs, and muscular bumper elements with silver accents. As for the rear it is expected to feature a connected tail-lamp design and prominent Gravite badging. These changes aim to complement the overall appearance of the MPV giving it a stronger road presence and modern appearance while maintaining a clean look. 

Engine and Market Positioning

The Nissan Gravite is expected to be Powered by a 1.0-litre, three-cylinder petrol engine, that puts up around 72hp and 96Nm, paired with a five-speed manual or AMT gearbox. A CNG option may be introduced later. As for the pricing it is expected between Rs 6 lakh and Rs 9 lakh (ex-showroom), positioning the Gravite as a direct rival to the Triber. With production aimed at India and overseas markets, the Gravite could play a big role in Nissan’s growth plans.

Though the cabin space of the Gravite is still under wraps, it is likely to offer a flexible three-row seating layout similar to the Triber’s modular setup. Expected features include an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, wireless Android Auto and Apple Car Play, digital driver display, push-button start, wireless charging, and multiple convenience-focused storage options. Nissan has put emphasis on comfort, ease of use, and everyday practicality.

Verdict

The Gravite feels like a smart, no-nonsense move from Nissan at a time when practicality matters most. By blending proven hardware with fresh styling and family-focused features, it has the potential to attract value-driven buyers. If priced competitively, the Gravite could finally give Nissan a stronger foothold in India’s compact MPV space.
