Tata Motors is gearing up to launch the highly anticipated Curvv compact SUV in India. This new coupe SUV aims to bring a stylish and modern design to the competitive compact SUV market. Let's dive into the details.

Tata Curvv Launch Date Announced

The Tata Curvv has been generating excitement ever since it was showcased as a concept. The official launch date has been announced, and the Curvv will be hitting the market on August 7th, 2024. This launch marks the introduction of the first coupe-style compact SUV in India.

Stylish Design and Features

The Tata Curvv stands out with its unique coupe roofline and modern appearance. 

Key exterior features include:

  • Flush door handles
  • Muscular fascia
  • Chunky body claddings
  • Large aerodynamic alloy wheels
  • LED headlights and DRLs
  • LED tail lights
  • Large panoramic sunroof

Inside, the Curvv is expected to have a dashboard similar to the Nexon, but with added features to enhance its appeal. These may include:

  • A larger 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment screen
  • Dual-zone climate control
  • Electronic parking brake
  • Level-2 ADAS suite
  • Plusher cabin materials

Engine and Performance

The Curvv will be available in both ICE (Internal Combustion Engine) and EV (Electric Vehicle) versions. The ICE version will share its powertrains with the Nexon:

  • 1.5L 4-cylinder turbo diesel engine (115 PS, 260 Nm)
  • 1.2L 3-cylinder turbo petrol engine (125 PS, 225 Nm, available later)

The Curvv EV will be based on Tata's new Acti.ev platform, featuring a battery size of around 50 kWh, promising approximately 500 km of range on a single charge. The Acti.ev platform supports a dual-motor AWD layout, but this is less likely to be included in the Curvv EV.

Competing in a Crowded Market

When launched, the Tata Curvv will compete with popular models like the Hyundai CretaKia SeltosMaruti Grand VitaraToyota HyryderHonda ElevateMG AstorSkoda KushaqVolkswagen Taigun, and Citroen C3 Aircross. Its stylish design and robust feature set are expected to make it a strong contender in this crowded segment.
