Tata Tiago is set to get another variant in the updated Tata Tiago NRG, with its proposed launch on August 04, 2021.
● The Tata Tiago NRG is making a comeback with a facelift.
● Tata Tiago NRG will be available as a single variant and get manual and automatic transmission options.
● Tata Motors has fixed the Tata Tiago NRG launch date as August 04, 2021.
The Tata Tiago NRG is not a new concept as the rugged-looking vehicle variant was already available between 2018 to 2020 before Tata Motors dropped it from its line-up when launching the facelifted Tata Tiago in 2020.
The Tata Tiago NRG is set for a comeback as a facelifted version of the discontinued hatchback.
The 2021 Tata Tiago NRG – What has changed?
Compared to its earlier version, the 2021 Tata Tiago NRG will feature a sharper grille design and headlamps. Moreover, the front and rear bumpers will get an overhaul with faux skid plates and cladding all around the vehicle. Furthermore, this rugged vehicle will now be available in four colours, Forest Green, Fire Red, Cloudy Grey, and Snow White.
Tata Motors expects to release the updated Tata Tiago NRG in a single fully-loaded variant packed with all the necessary features for a hatchback. The interiors include a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment console with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Harman sound system, power windows, adjustable driver seat, automatic climate controls, remote locking, steering-mounted controls, and power-folding ORVMs, and many more. Besides, this vehicle will also feature a safety kit comprising the mandatory dual airbags, rear parking sensors, D/N rearview mirror, ABS, and much more.
2021 Tata Tiago NRG – Changes under the hood?
Tata Motors has not envisaged any changes in the engine configuration for the Tata Tiago NRG. It will run on the same 1.2L 3-cylinder NA petrol engine and deliver maximum power and torque of 86hp and 113Nm, respectively. This updated hatchback will come with manual and automatic gearbox transmission options.
2021 Tata Tiago NRG – Pricing
At present, the top-end Tata Tiago XZ+ variant is available in the pricing range of Rs 6.33 to Rs 6.95 lakhs (ex-showroom). On the other hand, the updated Tata Tiago NRG will cost approximately Rs 20,000 to Rs 30,000 more.
2021 Tata Tiago NRG – The Competition
With Maruti Suzuki discontinuing its Celerio X model, the Tata Tiago NRG does not have a direct competitor. However, it racks up against the Maruti Suzuki Celerio, Datsun Go, Maruti Suzuki Wagon R, and the Hyundai Santro.
