Let's take a detailed look at all the specs and features that Punch.EV offers.

Compared to the ICE powered Punch, the Punch EV has received a complete overhaul in the front. Its design highly resembles the Nexon.EV. The connected LED strip that covers the entire front width of the car and the headlamp housing looks similar to Nexon.EV. However, the difference is evident in the grille design. Also, it is the first Tata model to receive the new black & white (non chrome) brand logo and Tata's first electric model to come with front mounted charging port.
On the other hand, the rear design of the Punch continues with the same design as that of ICE powered Punch. Additionally, the side profile of the Punch EV remains more or less the same as the ICE Punch with some differences in the alloy wheel design, the .EV badging and the ORVMs. The ORVMs are the same that we see on the Harrier/Safari/Nexon.
Being based on Tata’s new pure EV architecture, the Punch EV gets a more power efficient battery pack that is placed lower to the floor of the vehicle. Tata Punch will come with two battery packs and motor combinations. The first one is the standard range version with a 25 kWh battery paired with a PMSM motor generating 81.5 PS of power and 114 Nm of torque. It comes with an MIDC range of 315 Km. The second one is the long range version with a 35 kWh battery paired with a PMSM motor generating 122.3 PS of power and 190 Nm of torque. It comes with an MIDC range of 421 Km.
The standard range version of Punch EV will only come with a 3.3 kW AC charger while the long range version of Punch EV will come with an option of 3.3 kW or 7.2 kW AC charger. Moreover, the Punch EV also supports DC fast charging of up to 50 kW and can charge from 10 to 80% in just 56 minutes using any 50 kW DC fast charger.
Being an EV, the Punch EV comes loaded with a number of features that are missing in the ICE powered Punch. Tata has equipped it with features like a 360 degree view camera with rear blind spot view monitor, ventilated front seats, auto dimming IRVM, electric parking brake with auto hold, etc.
On the safety front, Punch EV will offer active safety tech like ESP, traction control, hill hold assist, hill descent control, brake disc wiping, roll over mitigation, all 4 disc brakes, etc. For passive safety, it comes with 6 airbags and ISOFIX. All these active and passive features will come as standard in Punch EV.
Tata Punch EV standard range version will come in 5 variants (with optional sunroof) and 5 colour options. The long range version will come in 3 variants (with optional sunroof) and 5 colour options. Its prices start at Rs 10.99 lakh for the standard range base variant and go all the way to Rs 14.49 lakh for the long range top end variant.
Tata Punch.EV will sit below the Nexon.EV and above Tiago.EV/Tigor.EV in Tata’s EV lineup. With the arrival of Punch EV, Tata seems all set to acquire even higher market share in India's EV 4 wheelers market. Moreover, the Punch EV also paves the way forward for the next generation of pure EVs from the Indian auto giant - Tata Motors (Tata.EV).
