Booking the Tesla Model Y
Customers can book the Tesla Model Y in two ways: online through the Tesla India website or offline at a Tesla Experience Centre. For online bookings, users must visit the Tesla India website and select their preferred payment method, either full payment or an auto loan. They can configure the exterior and interior colours and choose the full self-driving capability package if desired. Personal details such as name and contact information are required. A booking amount of Rs 22,220 must be paid to confirm the order. After payment, customers receive a booking confirmation.
For offline bookings, customers visit one of Tesla’s three experience centres in India. A sales representative assists with the process, which mirrors the online procedure but is completed in person. Customers provide their contact details, select the variant, choose colour options, and decide on the self-driving package. Tesla recommends taking a test drive and reviewing all booking terms before making a payment.
Model Y Features and Specifications
The Model Y L variant offers increased cabin space and a stronger powertrain. The design follows Tesla’s minimalistic approach, featuring a plain fascia with a connected LED light bar and slim horizontal LED headlamps. The coupe-SUV profile includes flush door handles and 20-inch alloy wheels. At the rear, the Model Y has a connected LED taillamp cluster, a bootlid spoiler, and black bumper cladding.
Inside, the Model Y maintains a simple layout centered around a large infotainment screen that controls most in-car functions, including the digital instrument cluster. The cabin features a three-spoke steering wheel and slim AC vents across the dashboard.
Key features include a panoramic glass roof, a 16-inch touchscreen infotainment system, powered front and rear seats, an 8-inch touchscreen for rear passengers, a 19-speaker audio system, powered tailgate, air purifier, heated steering wheel, power-adjustable AC vents, and wireless phone chargers.

Safety equipment includes multiple airbags, an inbuilt dashcam, electronic stability control (ESC), hill start assist (HSA), front and rear parking sensors, and an electronic parking brake with auto-hold (EPB). The Model Y also offers advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS). Customers can opt for full self-driving (FSD) capabilities for an additional Rs 6 lakh, to be activated later via a software update.
Tesla offers three powertrain options for the Model Y, with a maximum claimed range of 681 km. The Model Y can accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph quickly and can add up to 288 km of range in 15 minutes using Tesla’s Supercharger network.
