First Look: 2023 Kia EV9 Images Leaked Before Highly Anticipated Global Debut

Over the past few weeks, Kia has been testing its flagship electric SUV, the EV9, in its home country. A teaser for the vehicle was released earlier this month, and leaked images have now revealed the complete exterior and interior design ahead of its global launch in March 2023.

The SUV maintains many of the design elements seen in the prototype at the Auto Expo 2023, including inverted Z-shaped LED DRLs and an elongated bonnet with a blanked-off grille. The side profile features a boxy silhouette with large wheel arches, flushed door handles, door-mounted ORVMs, and a generous window area.

One of the leaked images revealed two EV9 variants parked beside each other, with one of them featuring a distinct wheel design and a dual sunroof.

The recently leaked images also provide a glimpse of the SUV's interior, which has a premium feel to it. The dashboard features a dual-panel screen unit that incorporates both the infotainment and instrument cluster displays. The steering wheel design is unique and adds to the overall aesthetic. Furthermore, the centre console between the front seats is spacious and includes cup holders, a wireless charging pad, control switches, and a storage compartment underneath.

The leaked spy pictures have revealed that the EV9 will have a seven-seater version with captain seats for the middle row and sufficient boot space when the third row is folded down.

The EV9 will be constructed on the E-GMP electric platform, and although technical specifications are not yet available, it is expected to feature a battery pack that provides a driving range of 450km on a full charge.
