BMW has introduced the all-new 5 Series LWB in India, priced at Rs 72.90 lakh. This launch comes a few months after the debut of its electric counterpart, the i5. The 5 Series in India now features a long-wheelbase (LWB) version for the first time, targeting buyers who prefer chauffeur-driven luxury sedans. The eighth-generation 5 Series, codenamed G68, will compete with the Mercedes-Benz E-Class, which has been available in LWB form for some time.
Pricing and Competitors
BMW 5 Series LWB starts at Rs 72.90 lakh, undercutting its main rival, the Mercedes E-Class, by about Rs 3 lakh.

The Lexus ES starts at Rs 63.10 lakh, making it the most affordable in this segment, followed by the Audi A6 at Rs 64.41 lakh, and the Volvo S90 at Rs 68.25 lakh. The BMW 6 Series GT overlaps with the 5 Series, priced between Rs 73.50 lakh and Rs 78.90 lakh.
