Bajaj Auto: Triumph in India, Trouble Abroad.

Bajaj Auto, a manufacturer of two and three-wheelers, announced its sales volume for June 2023 on Monday. The company sold 3,40,981 vehicles in total, which is 2% lower than the 3,47,004 units sold in June 2022. The main reason for the decline was the lower exports of both two and three-wheelers.

Domestic sales rise 45%, and exports fall 32%

The company's domestic sales increased by 45% year-on-year, from 1,38,351 units to 1,99,983 units. However, this was offset by a 32% fall in exports, from 2,08,653 units to 1,40,998 units. The company's sales were below Nomura's estimates of 3.49 lakh units.

Two-wheeler sales are down 7%, and commercial vehicle sales are up 52%

The company sold 2,93,649 two-wheelers in June 2023, which is 7% lower than the 3,15,948 units sold in June 2022. Domestic two-wheeler sales increased by 33%, while the exports of two-wheelers decreased by 33%. The company sold 47,332 commercial vehicles in June 2023, which is 52% higher than the 31,056 units sold in June 2022. Domestic commercial vehicle sales surged by 154%, while the exports of commercial vehicles declined by 23%.
