BMW R 18 and R nineT 100 Years editions launched in India

Given how widely used its automobiles are, it's simple to forget that BMW was a motorbike innovator as well. In reality, the German manufacturer has been producing two-wheelers for a century, and just unveiled the R 18 and R nineT 100 Years editions to commemorate that.

Price of BMW R 18 and R Nine T

The two special edition bikes with a limited run have now been released in India for Rs. 25.90 lakh and Rs. 24 lakh, ex-showroom, respectively.

The basic R 18 costs Rs 19.90 lakh, while the base R nineT costs Rs 19 lakh. Given the aforementioned rates, the 100 Years Editions of both motorcycles are about Rs 5–6 lakh more expensive than their respective base versions.

And the reason for this is that the special versions are laden with add-ons, such as components from the Option 719 catalogue. Because this was the preferred aesthetic of the motorcycle business when BMW first began producing bikes back in the 1920s, chrome is used extensively on both machines.

R NineT 100 years

On the R nineT, the chrome parts are combined with black elements like the Option 719 Classic black anodized rims, air intakes, and fork tubes.

The Billet Pack Shadow II collection is used for the adjustable hand levers, pegs, expansion tank covers, and bar-end mirrors, while the Option 719 Billet Pack Shadow collection is used for the milling cylinder head covers, front engine cover, seat holder, and oil filler plug.

Heated grips, cruise control, Riding Modes Pro, and adaptive cornering lights are additional standard features.

R 18 100 years

The R 18 100 Years edition has a similar chrome and black design, with the two-tone black and oxblood red, engraved with a diamond pattern, being one of the more unique features.

A chrome Akrapovi exhaust system with perforated tailpipe covers styled like the BMW emblem is visible when you take a closer look, which is an even more intriguing element.

There is no information available regarding the precise number of units that have been allocated for India, although both special editions are limited to just 1,923 units each globally (to represent the year that BMW began producing bikes).
