Honda Activa 6G Takes a Leap into the Future with Bluetooth Connectivity

New Bluetooth features

This holiday season, the Activa 6G is poised to disprove your assumptions because it will support smartphone connectivity. We also know that a fully digital instrument console will take the place of the antiquated analogue instrument console found on the current model. It would be expected that Honda will include features like call/SMS alerts and phone battery status; however, it is unclear if Honda will also include turn-by-turn navigation.

However, it is unlikely that the Activa 6G could be fitted with this update, which is seen on Honda's more expensive, international models like the Forza 350. Honda did trademark its exclusive RoadSync connectivity suite in India back in 2021. Honda Smartphone Voice Control System (HSVCS) is a feature found on the H'ness CB350 and CB350RS, but as this system requires a headset to function, we do not anticipate the Activa 6G to include this feature as well.

How it performs against the competition

The Honda Activa 6G now dominates the sales rankings in India's competitive 110cc scooter market. Yet when compared to its major competition, the TVS Jupiter, which, incidentally, has turn-by-turn navigation in the higher variant, it is fairly out of date in many ways. Honda did introduce an H-Smart version of the Activa 6G in the beginning of the year, but the features were not sufficiently updated.

We anticipate the Activa 6G will charge a premium of Rs 6,000 over the H-Smart variant, which is presently priced at Rs 80,537, if it receives a front disc brake and smartphone connectivity. To put things in perspective, the TVS Jupiter ZX SmartXConnect version costs Rs 87,123. (both prices ex-showroom Delhi). The Hero Pleasure Xtec has joined the TVS Jupiter to compete against the Honda Activa 6G, even though the Activa 6G doesn't need to face off against any 110cc scooters.
