Hyundai i20 price goes up again. Check the updated price list after the second hike in just a month

Hyundai Motor, the popular Korean automaker, has raised the price of its well-received i20 hatchback once again, marking the second time in the span of a month.
Following the prior hike earlier this month, the latest increase has made the base variants of the i20 hatchback more expensive. As a result, those who aspire to own an i20 must now be prepared to shell out a minimum of Rs. 7.46 lakh (ex-showroom), a rise of around six per cent.
This price hike was enacted after Hyundai had already raised the price of i20 variants by up to Rs. 15,900 earlier this month. This move was a consequence of the automaker had to modify its product lineup to meet the new emission norms that came into effect on April 1.
To comply with the new regulations, Hyundai removed the diesel variants of the i20 from its offerings, leaving only petrol versions in its stable. In order to be in line with the latest emissions standards, the i20 petrol variants were recently upgraded with BS-6 Phase 2-compliant engines.
As per the recently released price list, the latest price hike for the Hyundai i20 has impacted a total of nine different variants across its Magna, Sportz, and Asta trims. The most significant price increase has been observed in the Magna manual variant, which has now become more expensive by roughly Rs. 43,000.
On the other hand, the Sportz variants - both manual and automatic, as well as their dual-tone versions - have been subject to comparatively smaller price hikes ranging between Rs. 14,600 and Rs. 16,400. Meanwhile, the Asta and Asta (O) variants have also seen their prices increase following this latest round of changes.
For buyers who were eyeing the Magna manual variant, the recent hike may come as a significant setback, as it represents the largest price increase among all the affected variants.
However, for those interested in the Sportz variants, the price hikes may seem more manageable, particularly given that they are in the lower range of increases.
As always, the exact impact of these price hikes will depend on individual consumer preferences and budgets. Nevertheless, it is clear that this latest wave of price increases represents yet another challenge for the Hyundai i20 hatchback and its loyal following.
| Hyundai i20 variants | Old price (Ex-showroom) | New price (Ex-showroom) ||------------------------------|-------------------------|-------------------------|| Magna manual | 7.03 lakh | 7.46 lakh || Sportz manual | 7.93 lakh | 8.07 lakh || Sportz dual-tone manual | 8.08 lakh | 8.22 lakh || Asta manual | 8.80 lakh | 9.03 lakh || Asta (O) manual | 9.54 lakh | 9.77 lakh || Asta (O) dual tone manual | 9.69 lakh | 9.92 lakh || Sportz automatic | 8.95 lakh | 9.11 lakh || Asia (O) Automatic | 10.56 lakh | 10.81 lakh || Asta (O) dual tone Automatic | 10.71 lakh | 10.96 lakh |
