Mahindra Scorpio Classic Waiting Time Increased to Over 7 Months

Since its inception in 2002, Mahindra Scorpio has been one of the most-sold SUVs in Mahindra's Portfolio. According to the latest reports, the demand in the domestic market has extended the waiting period. The waiting period for Scorpio Classic, S, and S11 has increased to about seven months.

Mahindra announced ramping up production processes for the Mahindra Scorpio line-up to minimize the long waiting periods on its SUVs in November last year.

Mahindra Scorpio Classic Engine & Specifications

The SUV gets power from a 2.2-liter diesel engine that can produce 132 HP of power output and 300 Nm of peak torque, while this engine is coupled with a 6-speed manual gearbox. Mahindra Scorpio Classic is not available in an automatic gearbox, and the 4x4 option is only available in the Classic N variant.

Mahindra Scorpio Classic currently sells at Rs 12.99 lakh for its base S variant. In comparison, the high-end variant costs around Rs 16.81 lakh, ex-showroom. Scorpio Classic comes in 7 and 9 seating options, and Classic S11 is particularly available in 7-seating capacity.

Further, S11 features captain chairs, while S trim packs side-facing chairs. According to new reports, Mahindra may launch a new mid-spec variant S5 by this year.
