Mercedes-AMG GT 63 S E Performance debuts in India with a hefty price tag of Rs. 3.3 crores

Mercedes-Benz India has recently announced the launch of its latest offering, the AMG GT 63 S E Performance four-door coupe, which carries a price tag starting at Rs. 3.3 crore (ex-showroom, India). This vehicle boasts the title of the most powerful production car ever produced by AMG, hailing from Affalterbach. The car features subtle design alterations such as new bumpers, alloy wheels, a new exhaust system, and a charging port located on the right-hand side of the rear bumper.

Under the hood, the Mercedes-AMG GT 63 S E Performance is equipped with a 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 engine. Additionally, an electric motor sends an extra 150 kW (201 bhp) of power to the rear wheel. The combination of the V8 and the electric motor produces an astounding 831 bhp and 1,470 Nm of peak torque.

The vehicle can reach a top speed of 316 kmph (electronically controlled) and go from 0 to 100 kmph in just 2.9 seconds. Furthermore, power is distributed to all four wheels with AWD as standard, along with a 9G AMG-Speed shift automatic transmission.

The four-door performance coupe's interior receive the AMG treatment with sports seats, Alcantara and carbon fibre accents, and AMG badging all over. Moreover, you receive the multi-function AMG steering wheel with quick-dials. Two 12.4-inch screens, one for the infotainment system and the other for the digital instrument panel, are available on the AMG GT S E Performance. The newest MBUX interface is used by the device.

The Mercedes-AMG GT 63 S E Performance largely draws on the automaker's lessons learned in Florida for its technology. It receives a 6 kWh ultra-light lithium-ion battery that was developed using ideas from the Mercedes-AMG Formula 1 team. AMG Dynamic Select driving modes are also available, and the right-hand stalk of the steering wheel offers four different recovery modes.

The centre console or the steering wheel on the four-door coupe also has a toggle to increase or decrease the sound. For the first time, the AMG GT 63 S E Performance also has a pure EV mode that enables 13 km of all-electric driving.

Also, Mercedes-Benz India has revealed that none other than seven-time Formula One world champion Lewis Hamilton would deliver keys to new AMG GT 63 S E Performance owners on behalf of Mercedes.
