Learn about the enhanced dimensions, advanced interior technologies, and the introduction of the separate 7-seater Tayron model.
The Volkswagen Tiguan has been a popular SUV for the brand, and now a new generation is on its way. While details are still limited, the upcoming Tiguan promises to bring a fresh and modern design, along with exciting technological advancements. we'll explore what we know so far about the new Tiguan, including its exterior and interior features, as well as potential changes in the Indian market.
Volkswagen has given the new Tiguan a more contemporary and less boxy appearance compared to its predecessor. Although the vehicle has been partially camouflaged, it's clear that the overall aesthetics reflect Volkswagen's new design language seen in models like the ID.7. The new Tiguan showcases a hint of flair while maintaining the brand's signature elegance.
The upcoming Tiguan has grown in size compared to the outgoing model. With a length of 4551 mm and a height of 1640 mm, it offers an increased sense of presence on the road. The width and wheelbase remain at 1939 mm and 2681 mm respectively. It's important to note that these dimensions apply to the SWB (Short Wheelbase) models, as the LWB (Long Wheelbase) Allspace variants will no longer be part of the Tiguan lineup.
While Volkswagen has not released images of the new Tiguan's interior, it's expected to feature a range of advanced technologies. Speculations suggest that it may share similarities with the Volkswagen ID.7, boasting a 12.9-inch infotainment screen as a standard feature, with top models potentially offering an even larger 15-inch display. A 10.25-inch instrumentation screen and a windscreen Head-Up Display (HUD) are also anticipated, enhancing the overall driving experience.
Volkswagen aims to deliver a well-equipped and comfortable driving experience with the new Tiguan. Noteworthy features may include an optional 4Motion AWD system for enhanced traction, ventilated and 14-way adjustable front seats, and advanced 2-valve shock absorbers. Additionally, the new Tiguan is said to offer increased boot space, with an additional 33 litres, totalling 648 litres.
The New 7-Seater Model: In a surprising move, Volkswagen has reportedly decided to separate the 7-seater variant from the Tiguan lineup and introduce it as a standalone model called Tayron. This decision implies that the Indian market may only receive the recently confirmed 7-seater Tayron, rather than the LWB Allspace variants of the Tiguan.
The new generation Volkswagen Tiguan promises to bring a fresh design, advanced technologies, and improved dimensions to the popular SUV. While details on the Indian market remain uncertain, Volkswagen enthusiasts can anticipate a more modern and feature-packed driving experience with the upcoming Tiguan. Stay tuned for further updates as Volkswagen prepares to launch the new Tiguan and the exciting 7-seater Tayron in the near future.
