Next-gen Mini Countryman Set to Receive Electric Powertrain Option

Next year, a larger Mini Countryman SUV will be unveiled globally, addressing the needs of customers who have outgrown the current line-up. The new model is twinned with BMW X1 and will be the first in the brand's new range, featuring an electric powertrain option for the first time.

What's the Add-on Features in the Upcoming Mini Countryman SUV?

The upcoming Mini Countryman SUV aims to cater to growing families and the US market by providing a larger and more practical vehicle with improved cabin and cargo space. The new model will have a squarer front end, bigger overhangs, and a tougher appearance compared to the current version. Mini's new headlights design will also be featured.

The new Countryman will have an expanded powertrain lineup that includes an electric option to replace the soon-to-be-discontinued plug-in hybrid, alongside a petrol alternative.

The new Mini Countryman SUV will have an electric powertrain option with two battery options, 54kWh and 64kWh. The SUV will offer up to 438km of range and power starting from 191hp in the E and 290hp in the SE. The SUV will also have four-wheel drive options for both electric and combustion variants.

The JCW variants will come in ICE and EV versions with extra power and visual cues. Further information about the SUV is expected to be released closer to its global debut in February 2022.
