Rajasthan Govt Offers Land to Tesla in Bhiwadi For a Production Unit

The letter was addressed to Vaibhav Taneja, who is the director of Tesla India Motors and Energy Pvt Ltd. It was undersigned by RIICO managing director Ashutosh Pednekar, and it said that Rajasthan's investment promotion scheme offers the most attractive incentive scheme as compared to other Indian states.

Tesla had announced that it will set up an R&D facility in Bengaluru and centres in five states. Hearing this, the Rajasthan government has also offered them land in Bhiwadi, by writing a letter to the company. Telsa has not yet given any details regarding the plans for its centres. The state government, however, in the letter reached out to the electric car maker by asking them to consider Rajasthan as a location for their future manufacturing unit in the country.

He further said that they will be glad to give Tesla customized solutions for the company's investment in the state.

The Rajasthan state has the advantages of location, as well as, resources in the automobile sector. The Alwar district, which is in in the NCR region emerges as a hub with over 100 companies working in the sector. The state has an eco-system of automobile component manufacturers, that produce suspension, transmission & steering systems, braking systems, electrical parts, tyres, and climate control systems, including other components as well. The businessmen in the state are also very well aware of the future of the cars in the country and said Tesla’s entry in the Indian market India will bring revolutionary changes in the sector.

Rajiv Arora, the president of Federation of Rajasthan Exporters, had also written a letter to the chief minister for having a word with Tesla. He said that Rajasthan is a strategic location for Tesla. To attract the company to the state, he has appealed the government to provide incentives under a special package. RIICO is currently working towards opening industrial areas across Rajasthan for allotment, which will be spread over 17,250 acres. The letter said that the department will be happy to help in the identification of locations and helping for further requirements as well.
