December 2025 is considered to be a landmark month for the Indian automotive market, with several exciting launches anticipated. From Maruti Suzuki's highly anticipated first all-electric to Tata Motors introducing petrol powertrain options in its flagship SUVs and the global unveiling of the new-generation Kia Seltos, car enthusiasts have much to look forward to. These launches promise to bring innovation, style, and enhanced choices for Indian buyers.
This festive season is not just about celebration but also a transformative leap in Indian car offerings. With electric vehicles finally gaining mainstream traction and popular models receiving significant upgrades, December is set to boost buyer excitement and market competition. Here’s everything you need to know about the upcoming cars scheduled for launch and unveiling this December 2025 in India.

Maruti Suzuki is entering the electric vehicle segment in India with its e-Vitara, launching on December 2, 2025. This SUV offers Suzuki’s new EV-focused design language, featuring LED projector headlights, Y-shaped DRLs, an aerodynamic grille, wraparound tail lamps, and 18-inch dual-tone alloy wheels. The cabin is modernized with a new dashboard layout that integrates a 10.25-inch touchscreen and a 10.1-inch digital driver display.
Talking about its powertrain unit, it comes with two battery options: a standard 49 kWh unit and a long-range 61 kWh unit, offering an estimated driving range of over 500 km. The car also offers six airbags and level 2 ADAS capabilities, marking a significant push towards advanced driver assistance in Maruti’s lineup. The eVitara will somehow share the same design portfolio as the petrol-powered Brezza.

Tata Motors will introduce petrol variants for two of its flagship SUVs, the Harrier and Safari. Both these vehicles were previously limited to a 2.0-liter diesel engine producing 170 HP and 350 Nm of torque. These models will now feature a new 1.5-liter turbocharged petrol engine delivering 160 HP and 255 Nm of torque. Transmission options include a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed torque converter automatic.
Talking about the prices, the brand will position these two petrol models below the diesel variants. The petrol powertrains will appeal to buyers seeking a smoother and quieter driving experience, particularly those with lower running requirements. This move broadens the appeal of these SUVs and reflects the growing demand for petrol options in premium SUV segments in India.

Kia is set to reveal the global version of its all-new Seltos on December 10, 2025. The 2026 Seltos adopts a more boxy SUV silhouette with connected lighting signatures and updated exterior styling, promising a fresh take on this popular compact SUV. The interior is also expected to receive significant updates with the latest screen and control layouts.
Though the India launch is slated for 2026, this global debut sets the stage for a redesigned, more tech-rich model that is likely to come with updated powertrains and enhanced safety features.

Mini India is launching the new Mini Cooper S Convertible in December 2025. This upcoming model is based on the Cooper S hatchback but features a fully electric fabric roof that opens or closes in 18 seconds and can operate at speeds up to 30 kmph. The car offers 204 HP from a 2.0-liter turbocharged petrol engine paired with a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission.
The brand's other features include a 9.4-inch OLED touchscreen, heads-up display, powered front seats, ambient lighting, and a Harman Kardon audio system. Bookings are already open through Mini’s official website and authorized dealerships.

Skoda is scheduled to launch the all-new, next-generation Skoda Superb sedan in India on December 13–15, 2025. This will be the first time the new Superb is officially launched in the Indian market, replacing the current generation that was sold as a CBU (completely built unit) in earlier years. Although there are new updates from the brand, the brand is already making plans to bring the CBU unit, just like it did for the Skoda Octavia RS.
These launches signify a pivotal moment in the Indian automotive landscape, combining electrification, new powertrains, and innovative design to captivate diverse customer segments this festive season.
With electrifying innovations, petrol powertrains, and striking redesigns, December 2025 promises to redefine the Indian car market.
