Recently, the film's creators treated fans to a tantalizing glimpse behind the scenes through a captivating video. This exclusive footage showcases the remarkable efforts undertaken in bringing the film to life, including an extraordinary display of driving prowess by none other than Tom Cruise.

In this latest instalment, titled 'Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning,' writer and director Christopher McQuarrie divulges a thrilling automotive set piece where Tom Cruise's character, Ethan Hunt, finds himself handcuffed to co-star Hayley Atwell's character, Grace.

This dire predicament forces Hunt to navigate the bustling streets of Rome, with only one hand at his disposal, in an attempt to evade a mysterious adversary. The aim was to create a heightened sense of realism and to achieve this, Cruise had to masterfully execute drifts through the city's traffic-laden, cobblestone streets. McQuarrie commends the outstanding results obtained during this exhilarating chase sequence.

The heart-pounding chase commences with Hunt behind the wheel of a BMW 5-Series. In a daring manoeuvre, he backs into two other vehicles, forcefully removing their doors and leaving the car's cabin fully exposed. Subsequently, both Hunt and Grace, along with Cruise and Atwell, make the decision to procure an alternative mode of transportation.

Their eyes fall upon a vintage yellow Fiat 500, which underwent modifications to enhance its speed, boasting an electric drivetrain. Steering this diminutive vehicle, characterized by its compact size, short wheelbase, and rear-mounted powerful motor, presented an immense challenge, particularly on the less grippy surface of the city's cobblestone roads, as attested by the director himself.
