Volvo EM90 Electric Minivan Revealed with 738 km Range

After being teased over the last few weeks, Volvo has finally unveiled its all-electric minivan (MPV) with the statement “comfortable living room on the move.” The demand for luxury MPVs has risen globally in the past couple of years, including China. Seeing it as an opportunity, Volvo introduced its EM90 for the Chinese market. However, it is yet to be revealed if this luxury MPV will also be offered in other markets.

The new electric MPV from Volvo is based on the Zeekr 009 luxury minivan, designed and developed by Geely for the Chinese market. As an electric car, EM90 has up to 738 km of maximum range, as per the CLTC testing cycle, all because of its 116 kWh battery pack that can be charged 10%-80% in 30 minutes with a DC fast charger.

Similar to the EX90 flagship SUV, the Volvo EM90 features bi-directional charging that allows the driver to use the battery pack of the EM90 to charge other electric cars and appliances. The EV gets a single electric motor capable of delivering 268 HP of power and can accelerate 0-100 kmph in 8.3 seconds.

Talking about features, the Volvo EM90 boasts a 15.4-inch infotainment screen, a 15.6-inch additional screen mounted on the roof and folds down, 21 Bowers & Wilkins sound system, surround-view camera, and millimeter wave radar and ultrasonic radars for safety. The Volvo electric car also has sound isolation and road noise cancellation technology, dual-chamber air suspension, and silent tires for comfortable rides.
