2023 Yamaha YZF-R3 Launched in Japan at 726k JPY (Rs 4.41 Lakh)

Japan has become the first recipient of the 2023 Yamaha R3. Yamaha Motor Company updated its Japanese portfolio with the launch of the R3 bike on May 10th, 2023. The company has kept the starting price of this latest launch at 7,29,000 Yen (Rs4.43 lakh in Indian rupees).

Does 2023 R23 Come with Any Styling Revision?

Yamaha hasn't made any major styling revisions in its latest iteration of the YZF series. The bike features a familiar design with a twin-pod headlight, full fairing, split-style seats, 17-inch alloy wheels in front and rear, and a side-slung exhaust.

Yamaha R23 also does not come in new color options. They are the same as available in its preceding models. These color options include Dark Bluish Purple Metallic, Deep Purplish Blue Metallic, and good l' Metallic Black.

New Features Yamaha YZF-R23 Packs

While there are no major stylish revisions, and the model is available in almost similar features, Yamaha has provided LED turn indicators to replace bulb-type indicators in the predecessor. Now, this latest launch of the Yamaha bike has full LED lighting that enhances the overall look of this sports bike.

Buyers in India can also expect a similar setup in their 2023 YZF-R23. Other features in Japanese R23 packs a quick shifter, but it's not available as standard fitment. Buyers will have to spend JPY 22,000 extra to get this feature. Although, there is no proper clarity if the feature supports clutchless upshift and downshift or only one.

The mechanical specification of Yamaha R23 includes a 320cc, parallel-twin, liquid-cooled engine aligned with the six-speed gearbox to produce the highest output of 41.57 bhp @10,750 RPM with a maximum torque of 30 Nm @9,000 RPM. Yamaha Motor Company claims its new launch passes the World Motorcycle Test Cycle to ensure 25.4 kmpl fuel mileage.

2023 Yamaha R23 Design & Dimension

Yamaha R23 continues to pack a diamond-type chassis. The upside-down front forks and preload-adjustable rear mono-shock are available to handle suspension tasks. As its predecessor, it comprises a standard combination of single discs on the front and rear wheels. Yamaha has provided a dual-channel ABS system in its mid-range sports bike.

Regarding dimensions, R23 features a 2090 mm overall length, 730 mm width,1140 mm height, and 1380 mm of wheelbase. This bike manufacturer has given 160 mm ground clearance to tackle illogical speed breakers.

2023 Yamaha FZY-R23 Expected Launch Date in India

Yamaha has already expanded its Japanese portfolio with the launch of 2023 R23 in addition to MT-03, MT-07, and MT-09. It's expected that Yamaha will soon update its Indian portfolio with the launch of R23 and MT-03 to compete with Kawasaki Ninja 300, Ninja 400, and KTM RC 390. Many dealers have already started unofficial bookings of YZF-R23, which also hints at the sooner launch of these new motorcycles in the Indian market.
