Alpine Alpenglow Unveiled in Paris Motor Show: A Hydrogen-powered Supercar

Alpine may have recently unveiled its analogue, ICE-powered A110 R sportscar, but we're about to get a clearer look at its future. This proposal, called the Alpine Alpenglow, may sound like a breakfast cereal, but it's actually a placeholder for the brand's impending design language.

The idea, which features a red-tinged lightbar, is a significant change from Alpine's existing model, the A110. 'Alpenglow's magnificent and extravagant design foreshadows what Alpine automobiles will look like tomorrow and our future ambition for motor sports,' stated CEO Laurent Rossi. 'By incorporating hydrogen technology, we are increasing our commitment to a responsible future while keeping driving pleasure as authentic as ever.'

According to these preliminary images, the future Alpine vehicles will resemble an even more angular Honda NSX. Unlike the Honda, though, it will be hydrogen-powered. That's right, while Alpine is already working on an all-electric lineup of vehicles, including an SUV, it hasn't given up on hydrogen power entirely.

And what precisely does Alpenglow mean? It's the 'luminous phenomenon in which a horizontal strip of red-tinged light appears on the mountains before sunrise and after dusk,' according to Alpine. Every day, you learn something new.
