Automakers need to use 20% recycled inputs in manufacturing

Car manufacturers will use 20% recycled materials by 2026–27. It has been decided that at least 20% of the materials used in cars will be recycled by 2026–2027. This level will be unchanged in 2027–28 but increased to 30% in 2028–29 and 2029–30. The guidelines will require percent of recycled materials to be used in new products.

This level remains unchanged in 2027–28, increasing to 30% in 2028–29 and 2029–30. Directive will mandate the use of a minimum amount of recycled materials in new products.

In 2026–27, under Section of the Office of Renewable Production (EPR), automakers should be allowed to use recycled materials up to 20% of the total weight of the steel they need.

Under the proposed system, at least 20% by weight of automotive components should be recycled by 2026-27. This level remains unchanged from 2027-28, but increases to 30% in 2028-29 and 2029-30. The directive will use a minimum of recycled materials in new production. EPR these instructions will refer to the total weight of ferrous metal and steel used in thevehicle.

The Concept is based on the operation of the Vehicle Scrapping and Automated Test Stations (ATS).There are currently 31 Registered Vehicle Disposal Facilities (RVSF)"certified and operational". According to the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, 29 more were classified as "approved only".
