Design and Look

Citroen has not made a completely new design, its overall look is similar to the fuel-powered C3. It will have the same exterior and interior design except there will not be a tailpipe and eC3 will have a new charging port.

Another change will be done in the centre console to add a new drive controller instead of a manual gear lever. The C3's other outer body panels, interior, and mechanical components—all of which have already been localised for the C3 with a gasoline engine—will not change.

This was done to reduce the eC3's costs, and sharing parts and components with the ICE version will improve economies of scale.

The largest obstacle to EV adoption continues to be affordable pricing, but Citroen is certain they can set the car's price competitively.

Performance and Range

The 30.2kWh battery pack that will power the eC3 is coming from the Chinese company Svolt, though Citroen hopes to localise it in the long term.

The Citroen EV will be equipped with a 3.3kW onboard AC charger and CCS2 rapid charging capability.
According to estimates, the eC3's front-axle mounted electric motor can deliver a maximum torque of 143Nm and 63kW (86hp).

About Tata Tiago

Tata Tiago EV pricing ranges from Rs. 8.49 Lakh to Rs. 11.79 Lakh. The Tata Tiago EV is available in 7 variations, with the cheapest model being the XE Base and the most expensive being the XZ Plus Tech LUX Fast Charge, which costs Rs. 11.79 lakhs.

Engine and Performance

Two battery pack configurations are available for the Tiago EV: 61PS/105Nm 19.2kWh and 75PS/114Nm 24kWh.

The larger 19.2 kWh battery pack is capable of a stated 250km of range, whereas the smaller one has a claimed range of 315km.

Its batteries can be recharged in three hours and 36 minutes using a 7.2kW charger. The 3.3kW charging capacity is only available for the smaller battery pack.

What’s the difference between eC3 and Tata Tiago?

In the case of Tata Tiago EV

According to us, the lower battery choice shouldn't even be taken into consideration because it can ruin your experience with EVs that have less power and range.

You should only purchase the larger battery options because you will need the additional 50km of range, if not the power.

In case of Citroen eC3

You have a single battery choice where they claim you will get 300-350km of range. So to be on the safer side you should remove 100km of range from the claim.

Then you can expect 200-250km of distance travelled on a full charge.

Price of Citroen eC3 and Tata Tiago eV

Tata Tiago has a starting price of Rs 8.49 lakhs but for smaller battery variants and around 10 to 12 lakhs for a bigger battery.

Citroen eC3 is also available in the same price range of Rs. 10 to 12 lakhs.

Conclusion

Citroen eC3 claims a better range compared to Tata Tiago eV at the same price range. So you will have to decide on your taste and which car brand you like and trust most. Also on the basis of looks and road presence.
