Hero Xtreme with new USD Forks and an oil cooler spotted on the road

The Hero Xtreme bike is a popular choice in India's competitive motorcycle market, offering a great value for its price. With a sleek design, powerful engine, and advanced features, it is a reliable and affordable option for riders. Now the new upgraded model of the bike is spotted on the roads with USD Forks and an old cooler too.

2023 Hero Xtreme: what's New

The inclusion of an oil-cooler in the latest model of Hero suggests that the company may have upgraded the existing 163cc engine to enhance its peak output performance, which could potentially pose a new competition for TVS and Bajaj, the leaders in the motorcycle segment.

The present 163cc engine with 2 valves is not recognized for being the most dynamic engine in its class, but if Hero manages to increase its performance, it could also be used in upcoming models in the future.

It is possible that this prototype motorcycle is equipped with the same 199cc 4-valve engine as the Xpulse series, and the oil-cooler is positioned specifically for this model.

Hero is phasing out the 2-valve engine, which is currently only used in the Xtreme 200S and was previously found in the Hero Xpulse 200. Therefore, it is likely that the newer and more efficient 4-valve engine will be used in the upcoming bike.

The addition of the USD fork suggests that the main frame will also undergo some modifications, and this may slightly increase the bike's weight. However, apart from these changes, the bike's appearance is similar to the current Xtreme 160R, which is not a bad thing.

The current price range for the Xtreme 160R is between Rs 1,18,616 and Rs 1,29,738 (ex-showroom, Delhi).

With all the modifications and upgrades, it is expected that the price of the new and larger Xtreme will increase once it is released.
