All new CB300X teaser: How Honda Plans to Dominate the Adventure Bike Segment

Honda has been teasing a new bike that is likely to share its platform with the CB300F naked bike. The teaser video showed glimpses of the bike’s headlight, which looked similar to the CB300F from the front, but had some ADV-like elements from the side, such as a partial fairing and a raised fender.

This makes us think that the new bike could be an adventure-styled variant of the CB300F, possibly called the CB300X, just like how the Hornet 2.0 spawned the CB200X. The teaser also hinted at some funky colour options for the new bike, with blue and yellow flashes.

CB300X Could Be A Better Tourer Than CB200X

The CB200X was Honda’s previous attempt at making an adventure bike from a naked bike, but it was not very convincing, as it had low ground clearance, a small front wheel for an ADV, and a weak engine for highway riding. The CB300X, on the other hand, could have better touring potential, thanks to the CB300F’s 293cc air-oil-cooled single that makes 24.47PS and 25.6Nm.

Honda To Compete In The Adventure Bike Segment

The adventure bike segment is heating up in India, with bikes like the KTM 250 Adventure and the Suzuki V-Strom SX attracting a lot of attention. Honda seems to be joining the fray with its upcoming CB300X, which is expected to cost significantly more than the CB300F’s Rs 2,25,900 (ex-showroom) price.
