Hyundai Kona Electric 2024 Spy Shots: Minimalistic Design Speculated

The Hyundai Kona's second generation is expected in 2023, but a prototype with a fully exposed rear end was spotted on a flatbed, exhibiting a minimalist design that, from this perspective, is evocative of the Tesla Cybertruck.

The images show a slim, full-width LED bar below the rear windscreen, as well as a very flat tailgate with the Hyundai symbol and a low-mounted licence plate. The lower section of the tail is still hidden, but previous spy pictures revealed a split taillight design with extra LEDs on each corner of the bumper - similar to the present model.

Spy pictures have revealed more of the Kona's face, which has a full-width LED bar, a wide grille, and bumper-mounted headlights, similar to the futuristic Staria and the new Grandeur / Azera. The new Kona has identical proportions to its predecessor, as well as the distinctive boxy fenders with a heavy amount of plastic cladding.

According to the Korean Car Blog, the new Kona lineup could replace the entire i30 family, as SUVs and crossovers have shown to be more popular in the tiny sector than traditional hatchbacks.
