Hyundai is launching two new cars in 2023: the Verna Sedan with two petrol engines, and the Ai3 Micro SUV based on the K1 platform.

Hyundai Unveils Two New Cars: Verna Sedan and Ai3 Micro SUV

Hyundai has launched the Ioniq 5 electric crossover and a new 1.5L turbo petrol engine in the Alcazar 3-row SUV. The company plans to release updated versions of existing models and introduce two new cars in 2023.

Hyundai Verna

Hyundai is ready to introduce the latest version of the Verna sedan in India on March 21, 2023. Prospective customers can reserve the new midsize sedan online or at authorized dealerships by paying a deposit of Rs 25,000.

The car will come with two petrol engine options: a 113bhp, 1.5-litre naturally-aspirated engine and a 160bhp, 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine. The car will have two transmission options, a 6-speed manual and a 7-speed DCT.

The new Verna has dimensions of 4535mm length, 1765mm width, and 1475mm height, with a wheelbase of 2670mm. Compared to the previous model, it is longer and wider, with an increased wheelbase of 70mm. It also has a spacious boot area of 528 litres, which is the largest in its segment.

The car comes equipped with a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system that has wireless connectivity, a digital driver's display, Bose sound system, heated and ventilated front seats, automatic AC, and other features. Additionally, the car will have ADAS technology, including lane keeps assist, adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, blind spot monitoring, collision avoidance system, and other features.

Hyundai Ai3 Micro SUV

Hyundai is developing a new micro SUV, codenamed Ai3, specifically for developing countries. The car is expected to launch during the festive season, before Diwali, and will compete with other micro SUVs like the Tata Punch, Nissan Magnite, and Renault Kiger. Based on the K1 platform, which also supports the Casper micro SUV and Grand i10 Nios, the new Ai3 will share design elements with the Venue compact SUV.

The car is anticipated to measure around 3.7-3.8 meters in length and have an extended wheelbase compared to standard models. The Ai3 will likely offer features similar to those of the Grand i10 Nios, including a single-pane sunroof.

Powering the micro SUV will be a 1.2L 4-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine that generates 81bhp and 114Nm of torque. A CNG version may also be available, and the car will come with both manual and AMT gearbox options
