Hyundai Motor India Powers Ahead with 119 Fast EV Charging Stations, Driving Clean Energy Milestone and Carbon Reduction

Hyundai Motor India is gearing up for the EV business on a large scale in India. As per the latest reports, Hyundai, with its developed India’s premium smart mobility solutions, is accelerating the nation’s electric business by expanding its enhanced EV charging station network to 119 fast charging stations to date. This embraces a major milestone for the brand in clean energy distribution and reducing carbon emissions.
This significant growth supports both Hyundai and non-Hyundai EV users across key highways, metros, and dealerships, reinforcing India’s path towards carbon neutrality. As of August 2025, the brand has delivered an impressive 2.3 million units of clean energy via more than 1,80,000 charging sessions. With this configuration, the brand has significantly reduced over 1.6 million kg of tailpipe CO₂ emissions.
Strengthening India’s EV Ecosystem with Strategic Infrastructure Expansion
As of August 2025, Hyundai managed to open 600 stations across India, poised to deliver electrifying key highways, major cities, and HMIL dealerships. These chargers are predominantly placed along major national highways and in metropolitan areas to ease long-distance travel and urban EV adoption. With this, the brand is also supporting India’s pursuit of carbon neutrality. Hyundai’s focus on expanding accessible, reliable, and customer-centric charging infrastructure highlights its commitment to shaping India’s sustainable mobility future.
Leadership Visionary Approach
Speaking about the recent EV development, Mr. Jae Wan Ryu, Functional Head, said, “At Hyundai Motor India, we are strongly positioned to lead the acceleration of EV adoption across the country. With this initiative, we have introduced seamless products like the Hyundai Ioniq 5 and Creta Electric.”
He later added, “We have significantly expanded our advanced EV retail footprint with 542 sales outlets across 238 cities. In alignment with the government of India’s vision for mass mobility. We, at our core, provide seamless charging access for both Hyundai and non-Hyundai EV customers.”
Customer-Friendly Charging Infrastructure

Hyundai’s advanced charging station features DC fast charging configurations like DC 150 kW, DC 60 kW, and DC 30 kW as options. Customers benefit from more than 97% uptime reliability, ensuring convenient access to power, mostly 24x7. These charging stations are strategically located in convenient areas such as coffee shops, restaurants, and shopping destinations.
To make the charging process easy and convenient, the brand has integrated charging access with its myHyundai mobile application for locating, booking, and paying for charging sessions. Additionally, Hyundai’s innovative Hyundai Pay platform allows in-car payment directly from the vehicle’s infotainment system, a first in India, elevating customer convenience. However, the company offers 7.4 kW and 11 kW charger options with a connected system for customers purchasing EVs.
Regional Focus and Future Growth Plans
As per the official report by the brand, HMIL’s EV charging stations are strategically located in major cities such as Gurugram, Mumbai, Pune, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, and Chennai. Considering the major highways, the brand established the EV charging stations in Delhi-Chandigarh, Delhi-Jaipur, Hyderabad-Vijayawada, Mumbai-Pune, Mumbai-Surat, Bangalore-Pune, and Pune-Kolhapur.
The brand has also promised to install 100 fast EV charging stations in Tamil Nadu to help promote sustainable green mobility across the state. As of August 2025, 16 electric vehicle charging stations are already established in Tamil Nadu and went operational on the same day, with the count increasing to 30 stations by the end of the 2025 season.
